Informed Centre-Link of your impending trip, if on a benefit or Pension...
If living alone, empty the fridge of food and turn it off, as you are going away for more than a few days...
Turn off your electricity to your hot water too, if you live alone...
Be prepared to say NO to all extras on your trip if on a budget...
Remember the main reason you are going and focus on making sure that goal is achievable...
If an Aussie, have you bought 2 tubes of Vegemite to take with you...Even if you don't eat it, you will be mobbed as a God if you give it to another Aussie whilst overseas!
Have you budgeted your trip well in advance and know fairly well how much money you will be needing?
Have you access to at least 20% more funds than you budgeted for?
If not, arrange to save that extra amount...You may not need it, but it is comforting to know you have an emergency amount if needed...
Example...if your trip estimates at $5000 all up, have at least $800 to $1,000 extra dollars in a separate account you make difficult to access!!!
